| Southern Illinois Storm Shelters, Inc. has produced a storm shelter designed to save lives in the midst of severe weather and tornado weather systems. The storm shelters are leak-proof and come with a limited lifetime warranty.
Southern Illinois Storm Shelters, Inc., offers an underground storm shelter, that is constructed of fiberglass materials and carries a limited lifetime warranty. The 6686 model comes standard with molded in seating, handrail, and carpeting. This model comes with our cross ventilation system, which provides airflow with very little draft. Standard features include 3 point locking system, non-skid steps, screened vents, and sealed door and meet all FEMA requirements.

Out Of The Ground |

 This is a picture of the shelter before it is installed! The entryway is equipped with a 1/2" rubber seal and edge trim to provide a water tight seal. Screened in vents create a cross ventilation system while keeping insects out. All shelters are coated with a waterproof enamel coating to help seal the shelter, while creating a great looking appearance. |

 THE LAMINATE SCHEDULE OF OUR SHELTERS RESULTS IN AN OVERALL THICKNESS OF 415 MIL.
(500 MILS = ½ OF AN INCH THICKNESS). Because of certain lamination techniques, trade secrets, and processes, or exact lamination process can not be disclosed. S.I.S.S.. Storm Shelter installed-- low Profile and nearly invisible with good landscaping!
- STAINLESS STEEL POSITIVE LOCK SYSTEM.
- ½ " RUBBER SEAL WITH EDGE TRIM PROVIDES A WATER TIGHT SEAL.
- 4" ROUND, SCREENED IN VENTS, ALLOWS FOR PROPER VENTILATION WHILE KEEPING INSECTS OUT.

- CARPETING IS STANDARD ON EVERY SHELTER.
- HONEYCOMB COMPOSITE CORE MATERIAL USED IN FLOOR CONSTRUCTION (WILL NOT ROT).
- FIBERGLASS STEP DESIGN ALLOWS FOR PLENTY OF ROOM, WITH THE SAFETY OF A LARGER TOP STEP.
- FIBERGLASS SEATING WITH MOLDED IN STORAGE BOXES.
- SEAM IS SEALED INSIDE WITH A SPECIAL BONDING COMPOUND, THEN LAMINATED ON THE OUTSIDE WITH SEVERAL LAYERS OF FIBERGLASS MAT TO FORM A LEAKPROOF ONE PIECE DESIGN.
- 1 ½" ROUND HANDRAIL IS STANDARD IN EVERY SHELTER FOR ADDED SAFETY.
- NON-SLIP SURFACE IS APPLIED TO ALL STEPS FOR SAFETY.
- OUR SHELTERS ARE CONSTRUCTED OF THE FINEST FIBERGLASS MATERIALS, AND STAINLESS STEEL HARDWARE TO PROVIDE YOU WITH A LIFETIME OF PROTECTION. ITS LOW PROFILE APPEARANCE BECOMES ALMOST INVISIBLE ONCE LANDSCAPED.
